Union City lost to Eisenhower 48-26 on Friday night at Bears Field. Eisenhower jumped out to an early lead thanks to Keegan Eckstroms 78 yard opening kickoff return for a touchdown (PAT Good). The next series for the Knights looked like it would be a long night for the Bears as Running Back, Benji Bauer took the first handoff 88 yards for the second score of the quarter for the Knights (PAT Good). The first quarter ended with the Knights ahead of the Bears 14-0.

The second quarter was much of the same with and 18 yard touchdown (PAT Blocked) run by Eckstrom and a 1 yard touchdown run by Bauer. With 1:36 remaining in the first half the Bears trailed 27-0. Kyler “Superman” Shaffer lead the Bears down the field to and finished it off with a 48 yard touchdown run (Conversion failed) making the score 27-6. Unfortunately, the Knights quickly answered with a 68 yard touchdown run (PAT Good) by Eckstrom. Score at the half was 34-6.

The second half was much more on the Bears side with a third quarter 45 yard touchdown run (Conversion failed) by Owen Kerns. After two short touchdown runs by Shawn Pascuzzi and Keegan Eckstrom (PATS Good). The Bears trailed the Knights 48-12.

Don’t count out these young Bears though. The fourth and final quarter would be ALL Bears. Danny Ruckman had a 15 yard touchdown run (Conversion failed) and Shaffer ripped off a magical 77 yard touchdown run. (Conversion Successful, Ruckman). Bears lose a well played game 48-26.
