Friday, the ladies down Lakeview in six innings 11 to 1. On Saturday, they defeated Saegertown 5 to 2.

Union City won the District 10 Class 2A championship in 2019.

Its current team is off to a 7-0 start, which is good for first place in Region 2’s standings. Union City outscored its first five opponents by a gaudy margin of 82-4.

Most of the players on the current roster were sophomores and freshmen when the 2019 team won districts. Those Bears bowed out in the PIAA tournament with a record of 18-3.

If not for the cancellation of last year’s spring season, Union City may have been competing for it’s third district title in a row.
