From staff reports

The Bears may have dropped their season opener, but it was still good news. Because high school baseball has returned this Spring.

Eisenhower scored six runs in the first inning on its way to an 11-7 District 10 Region 3 Conference victory over Union City on Monday afternoon.

Jared Beers, Teagran Gray and Alex Kemery all had two hits for the winners, while Beers and Gray both drove in a pair of runs, and Garrett Jensen, Cole Chapman, Kael Hunt and Kemery had one RBI apiece.

After its big first inning, the Knights tacked on four more runs in the bottom of the third and one more in the fourth.

Union City tallied two runs in the fourth, four in the sixth and one in the seventh.
