From Staff Reports

The Bears tally three rushers with over 100 yards on the ground, which adds up to the first win of 2020. After being held to 35 yards of offense against Eisenhower last week, Union City was ready to make a statement last Saturday.

The Bears ran for 477 yards and had three 100-yard rushers in a 38-22 rout of Seneca in Region 5 football action at Union City High School.

Union City continued to put together long sustaining drives in the third quarter and two were capped by Kyler Shaffer quarterback sneaks to make it 30-0. Shaffer ran for 100 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries.
David Roscinski added a fourth quarter touchdown and finished the day with 116 yards on 14 carries, while Shane Uber ran for 87 yards on seven carries and Cain Greeley had 37 yards on six carries. It was Union City’s biggest rushing performance since rushing for 403 yards at Cambridge Springs on Oct. 18, 2019.

The Bobcats’ offense was shut down most of the day against an aggressive Union City defense.
