UCASD Clovis 19 Update

The Union City Area School District Superentendentsuperintendent Matthew Bennett sent out a voice message to parents, students and residents letting them know that the district won’t be shutting down schools at this point. They are monitoring the the coronavirus situation. In the release it said that if children are sick, they should not be at school. Students need to be fever-free for 24 hours before returning to class after any illness. Both Union City and Corry schools issued the same press release.
The PIAA announced the suspension of all winter championships for the next two weeks. The PIAA, by enforcing a two–week hiatus from basketball and AA swimming championships, believes this action will allow schools time to perform self-assessments and make decisions to promote optimal health conditions in their communities.
During the Erie County Health Department’s news conference yesterday, County Executive Kathy Dahlkemper announced there are currently no cases of COVID-19 in Erie County. The Saint Patrick’s Day parade has been cancelled.
