UCASD Addresses Free Meals for Students During Shutdown

Over the weekend Matthew Bennett released another detailed phone message to parents, residents and students regarding the plan to continue to provide free meals to students, while school is shut down due to the Covis-19 virus situation.
In his 2:50 voice message, Bennett said that free breakfast and lunches for students will be available for pick up, Monday thru Friday. Details can be found at the schools website which is www.ucsd.org. Look underneath the quick links section. If you don’t have internet access then call this number 438-7673, extension 5466. On the phone state your children’s first and last name, and the quantity of meals needed in your household. This is for children ages 1 through 18, even if the children don’t attend the school district.
Here are the locations and times for pick up of meals. Please state where you will pick up. Here are the location numbers and guidelines.
Pick up location #1: Union City Middle/High School makeshift entrance Lobby 11 am till 1 pm
Pick up location #2: Troyer Brothers 11:10 am till 11:25
Pick up location #3: McNulty Fruit Stand 11:35 till 11:50
Pick up location #4 Wilcox Garage 12 to 12:15 pm
Pick up location #5 Bloomfield Fire Hall 11:15 to 11:25
Pick up location #6 Duane Jackson Insurance 11:45 till 12 pm
Pick up location #7 Silll Farm 12:10 pm until 12:25 pm
All district updates will come from Bennett, and posted online. There is no required homework during the shutdown, but students are encouraged to read for enjoyment to stay sharp, and complete any outside assignments if possible.
There are no sports practices or sporting events during the shutdown. Only assential personal will be in the school buidings, from 9 to 12 during the next two weeks. And the adminstration and teachers will be working electronically, and you are free to email any questions or concerns.
Lastly the message said that if you need a prescription for your children, please call you buidings principal. And a bit of good news at the end is that these days off, will not have to be made up, at the end of the school year.
