Erie Community Foundation and ECGRA Helps Fund Revitalization Projects For Union City, and Erie County

By Chris Lash Publisher

The Erie Community Foundation had a great year in 2019. With new gifts of $20 million, and the creation of more than 20 new endowment funds, foundation assets rose more than $20 million dollars.

Their efforts in the county will continue as they work with the Erie County Gaming Revenue Authority. The giving combination led to projects such as the Union City Historic Preservation Plan. The ECGRA, along with the foundations Shaping Tomorrow Fund, and the new Erie Center for the Arts, and Technology gave Union City $625,000 thru ECGRA’s Main Street Fund for the plan.

Union City’s Historic Preservation Plan was featured in a locally produced video and submitted to HGTV’s new TV show Hometown Takeover. The show is going to pick a community and do an entire town makeover.
