Free Union City Building Still Looking For Investor
By Chris Lash Publisher
One of downtown Union City’s buildings is back in the news, as the Erie Times News highligted a two story building at 23-25 S. Main Street. Union City Pride who now owns the building has been offering it for free for almost a year. And so far there has been no takers.
They installed siding where bricks had been, and put a tarp on the building to prevent any further damage inside. The upper part of the building was torn off during the tornado of 2013. Union City Pride Chairmen David Nothum indicated that their have been inquiries about the building, but so far no one has stepped forward on a plan for it. Any investor would have to have the money to fix the building and to make it a viable business.
The building needs a lot of work, including a new roof and other structural repairs, wiring, plumbing and electrical systems. For now the free building sign remains on the side of the building.
