Coe Hummel, 85, passed away, Monday, December 16, 2019 at Edinboro Manor. She was born on August 5, 1934 in Union City, a daughter of William Henry Coe and Charlotte Irene Platt Coe. She married Edward G. Hummel on June 2, 1956, he preceded her in death on November 19, 2000.

She was a graduate of Union City High School, Nursing School in Philadelphia, and was a nurse at Union City Memorial Hospital for over 30 years.

Betty was a member of the Union City First United Methodist Church.

She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, frogs, puzzles, gardening, camping, fishing, canning, and spending time with family.

Betty is survived by her two daughters, Cheryl Strobel and her husband James of Union City and Karen Wotus and her husband Richard of Corry; a son, Mark Hummel and his wife Loretta of Union City; grandchildren, R.J. Wotus and his wife, Lacey, Julie Wotus and Paul Wotus; a brother, William Coe of Union City; a cousin, Jack Tynall and his wife Anh; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, grandparents, a brother, Fredrick Coe; and a sister in law, Helen Coe.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Memorial donations in Betty’s memory may be made to the Warren-Glenn Funeral Home, 62 S. Main Street, Union City, PA 16438.

The family would like to thank Edinboro Manor, the girls from Heartfelt, and Interim Healthcare for their care of Betty.
