The Salvation Army bell ringers will return to Union City beginning this Friday at Tops Market. And this year the kettles will be equipped with digitally enabled tags that allow no cash carrying shoppers to instantly donate via your smartphone. Elizabeth Malec Moor, the local organizer hoops that this will boost their fundraising. “I just tried it out & it’s very easy—and technology is not my strong point.” said Malec Moon.

Moon appreciates her volunteers, and is always looking for more bell ringers. Potential volunteers can send her a text at (490-7394) about signing up to ring! Volunteers ring every day but Sundays, from Black Friday till Christmas Eve. Shifts usually start at 11:00 and the last one ends at 6:00 each day. Sign up for one or a few! It’s a fun family activity & a good opportunity for those in need of service hours too.
