Union City Fire Department Battles Major Blaze

The Union City Fire Department were called to a blaze late Monday night at 47 East High Street in the Borough. While the snow was falling, Union City’s volunteer firemen, began to fight the blaze from inside the residence, but had to pull out a the fire raged. They continued to fire from outside the house.

After hours of putting out the fire, it rekindled at 4:30 am. They continued to fight the blaze, which then caused a floor in the home to collapse.

A Union City woman, and her kids were already out of the house, when the fire department arrived. And their were no pets in the residence. One Union City fireman suffered a minor injury.

The Edinboro Volunteer Fire Department, Elgin-Beaverdam Hose Co., Wattsburg Hose Co., Kuhl Hose Co. and Stancliff Hose Co. Emergycare Ambulance assisted on the scene. The weather conditions made it difficult to get to Union City. The fire is under investigation!
