Union City Native Returns, Rehabs Old Building, and Starts New Floral Shop
By Chris Lash Publisher
It’s one thing to start a new business. It’s a whole different project, when you rehab an old empty building first, then start a new business. But that’s exactly what Union City native Stephanie Bedow Kent did. And that single renovated old print shop is helping to rehab the town. “Very dear friends of mine took over the printing building. They knew I was in looking for a nice space to put a floral shop in Union City. They contacted me and let me know they had this large commercial space. I went to look at it a couple days later and fell in love with it’s potential.” said Kent.
Born and raised in Union City, Bedow Kent has been a florist by trade in a nearby town, when she got the idea from other friends, of a true need for a flower shop in Union City.
“I have been working for a florist shop in a near by town. I heard from some friends that live in Union city, the need for a flower shop. “I had a wonderful childhood growing up here. I moved to Corry 17 years ago, but frequently visited Union City as I still have friends and family in the area. I’m a mother to 3 wonderful children. They love that I’m a florist. My boys get flowers for their girlfriends, and my daughter can have pretty flowers whenever she wants.” added Kent.
“My heart has always and always will be in Union City. This is where I grew up, this town, the people in it and the experiences I have had here have made me the person I am today. I love this little town and the love and support that everyone has shown me since I’ve come back and opened this business. I would love to see people continue to be positive about the wonderful changes Union City is making to the community.” Stephanie told Union City Today.
