The Buzz of Union City to Open

The Buzz Of Union City to Open

From Press Release

A new community-based business is planning to open in Union City! The Buzz of Union City Café (aka “The Buzz of UC” or just “The Buzz” for short) has received financing approval from Northwest Bank awaiting closing with the submission of architectural drawings and final bids for renovations. The business has a purchase agreement for the property at 62-64 North Main St, Union City, PA which is the Salon and former residence of Ruth Jane Watts. The business is to be owned and operated by Greg and Kathy Bowes, both lifetime residents of Union City.

Greg and Kathy, having served the community in many ways, including Borough Council and Parks and Recreation members, see the need for a gathering place for the residents to converse in a home like atmosphere while enjoying a great cup of coffee or a variety of other specialty beverages.

Besides being a gathering place for open discussion the Café will support local non-profit organizations through quarterly contributions to a selected Non-Profit. The funds for the contributions are expected to be raised with “Pay it Forward” coffee sales and matching funds from the café. Upcoming meeting dates, hot topics, and board members for all of the community non-profits will be posted for display in the café to spark meaningful conversation about what is happening in the community and encourage engagement.

The Buzz of UC Café will serve espresso-based specialty coffee beverages, drip coffee, cold brew coffee, Nitro coffee, a variety of hot and iced teas, and a mix of natural cold refreshing energy drinks. The Buzz of UC will also serve complementary food items such as baked goods, breakfast sandwiches, various flavored oatmeal, lunch panini style sandwiches, and soups.

Closing on the financing is expected by January 2020 at which time renovations will commence to convert this property into a Café, including a drive thru. The grand opening is expected in spring of 2020!
