For The Love of the Kids and Sports; UC Releases Stipends of its Fall Sports Athletic Coaches

When you see the the amounts represented below of coaches, and their assistants, you quickly realize the amount of time and effort that goes into coaching our students in the Union City Area School District.

Even if you don’t know the coach of one of the sports teams, you know they have the passion and dedication needed to coach and teach in 2019 and beyond. The recent success in all Union City athletics over the past year is proof of that.

Starting with the schools new Athletic Director, we move onto football and the other coaches: Athletic director — Nathan DeSimone, $6,865 Football — Head Coach, Randy Gunther, $7,065; varsity first assistant, Brian Patten, $5,252; varsity second assistant, Mike Pettinato, $5,152; varsity third assistant, Josh Kerns, $5,252; junior high head coach, Joshua Blood, $3,743; junior high first assistant, Jim Sheldon, $3,121; junior high second assistant, Michael Wydro, $2,810.

Junior high girls basketball — ninth-grade coach, Melissa Zielinski, $4,108; seventh- and eighth-grade coach, Kristen Ahl, $4,058. Cross-country — head coach, Jeannette Boyd, $4,882; assistant coach, Pete Boyd, $3,284; junior high coach, Sharon Reagle, $3,184. Girls volleyball — head coach, Rachel Moore, $4,366; assistant coach, Camryn Schmidt, $3,184. Golf — boys coach, Steve Yovich, $3,384; girls coach, Nathan DeSimone, $3,384. Football cheerleader adviser — Jenna Chelton, $1,661. Faculty managers — Belinda Dylon and Kim Dawson, split stipend, $1,246.50 each
