Union City Man Wrecks In Rain
From Police Report
A motor vehicle crash occurred on July 6 at about 8:10 a.m. on Interstate 79 at the 141.5-mile marker in Crawford County. State police at Meadville said Terry L. Ranyak, 61, of Union City, was traveling southbound I-79 in a black 2010 Dodge Caliber station wagon at about 70 mph. As he was traveling over a bridge, it began to heavily rain and caused water to stand on the bridge, which caused Ranyak to lose control of his vehicle. Police said the his vehicle struck a wall on the left side of the bridge. The station wagon sustained disabling damage to the front of the vehicle and was removed from the scene by Leonard’s Towing. Vernon Fire Department also responded to the scene.
