From Staff Reports

By a vote of 7 to 1, the Union City Area School board voted in favor of spending 8 million plus dollars on the renovations to the middle-high school, and the districts administration building. Dave Hopson voted no, citing concerns about debt. The board also excepted the lowest bids for general contractor, plumbing, HVAC and electrical work.

General Contractor – Hudson Group Inc. of Hermitage, $6,507,000. It was the lowest bid of five contractors

Plumbing – Shipley Brothers Construction Inc. of Cranberry Township, base bid of $1,173,900,

HVAC – Scobell Co. of Erie, $294,640. Scobell submitted the lower of two bids.
