Police Arrest Union City Man on Assault and Robbery

Corry based Pennsylvania State Police released information on the arrest of a Union City man who allegedly assaulted and robbed a man who had gone to the wrong apartment on North Main Street, this past Monday.

Michael Smiley of Union City is reported to have assaulted, and robbed at knife point, a Townville man. The police report indicated that Smiley took cash, a cell phone, and the victims clothes. The man while naked ran from the apartment and called police.
State Police later found Smiley and arrested him. Smiley was arraigned on charges including robbery, aggravated assault, simple assault, theft and harassment and sent to the Erie County Prison on $50,000 bond.
