Union City Wins District 10 2A Softball Championship

Union City started the game strong with five runs in the 1st inning, and nine in the 2nd. The icing was one more run in the 3rd, putting the Bears up 15-0 in the shutout win for the District 10 Softball Championship.

Wilmington had be on an eight-game winning streak, including three playoff wins. Sophomore Taylor Dlugozima is putting together a big season with a .507 batting average to go with 21 runs scored, 26 RBIs, nine doubles and six home runs.

Union City however had also been on a roll with nine straight wins. Sophomore Cyaira Zielinski has led the way with a .604 batting average and 25 RBIs, followed by Julie Burger (.450), Eliza Reynolds (.435), Allie Vandee (.431) and Jordyn Brozell (.413).

The Lady Bears will now play the fourth seed from District 7 to be announced
