Several updates from Union City Borough. Residents, planning any construction projects such as pools, decks, sheds, garage, storage buildings and fences, you should contact Zoning Officer Dennis Ploss at 814-438-7212. He can tell you if there are any zoning requirements for your project. The Zoning Ordinance does have set-back requirements and/or restrictions for some projects.
New changes that were passed during a Union City Borough Council meeting on Tuesday evening. Council unanimously voted to amend Ordinance 1049 to further regulate parking. The amended ordinance, made modifications to parking restrictions on certain streets, added a new special parking exemption, amended the designation of curb loading zones, added a section pertaining to disability parking and amended penalties for parking violations.
Council updated parking restrictions for Putnam and Lincoln streets. There will now be alternate street parking on the entire length of Putnam Street and there will be no winter parking permitted on the whole street. Lincoln Street will now have alternate parking from Brown Street to the barricades near the intersection of Concord and Lincoln streets.
