Pat Peterson, is scheduled to perform at the Bluegrass Fall Festival. Pat Peterson is such a joy to know. He is the son of Regina and Dennis Peterson of Union City. He adds, “My mother is awesome! She is a 5 year breast cancer survivor!” Pat is very proud of his family! He plays the guitar and drums. He started playing in school, then he was self-taught. He says, “My grampa Larry Peterson, was very musical inclined, he could play by ear like me.”

He adds, “I have played guitar for different events around Union City for over 10 years. I played on stage at the French Creek Festival every year, until 2017. Also,I will play at the Union City Volunteer Fire Department’s Blue Grass Fall Festival on September 29, at 1:15. I go by Pat and Partners, which is myself, Beth and Jim Edwards. This will be my second year playing with them.” He loves to play in front of people…he says, ” I do love playing for the people,it is fun! I love meeting new people, and I enjoy the people of Union City. They are awesome!”

Reflecting back on all the years he has played for the public, Pat says, “It’s been fun. God’s been good to me! I will keep playing around Union City till the Good Lord says no!!” Pat is such a sweet, caring young man and such a pleasure to know!! I”m sure most people have heard him play over the years. Stop down to the fire department on September 29, to hear him play, (at 1:15), and just to say hi to this talented man. He will be happy to see you!!

Notice from a farmer: This is going to be a bad winter because the bees are building high!! I love learning new thingsI I’ve never heard that before!! Have you??

The Farmers Almanac says this winter is going to be extremely cold, with above normal levels of snow for the Great Lakes area! Also lower than normal temperatures will stay with us until the middle of March!! Prepare ahead of time, get your wood in for the wood stove or fireplace, get your vehicle ready, your house ready, get your electric blankets out, have lots of hot chocolate, juice or booze to drink, whatever your preference. Be prepared people, we are being warned.

Take the year you were born, add your age, and the total will be 2018, pretty neat huh? It’s only works if you have already had your birthday this year. So, if y’all haven’t had your birthday yet this year, just add one!

Recently, Dave Pfister was asked “How are you doing?” He answered, “I’m hanging in there… a rope!!!”

SO SAD to see Lakeside Tavern in Waterford burn down!! Many people have many many memories of Lakeside Tavern. I loved going there and having their steak dinners. They had the best steak dinner of any bar around!! All of their food was excellent and their prices were LOW, and the atmosphere was great.

Welcome back to town everyone for Union City’s homecoming weekend!

Keith Sliker, of Corry, wonders “Why is it you add two odd numbers together you always get a even number??” Hmmm, think about it, and if you add two even numbers together you get an even number!!

PennDOT is having a ‘Paint the Plow’ contest for kids in Erie, Warren and Crawford Counties. Schools are asked to paint the plows with a winter safety seem and have some sort of representation from their school. The Paint the Plow program is showing appreciation for local schools art programs. The plows will be judged by a panel of judges and the voting will start sometime between October and November.

I had to share this. An 8 year old , named Jonathan , describes his grandma,” My grandma looks exactly like my mom, only more lumpy!”

This is a new law………As of October 1, 2018 ….Sky lanterns will now be illegal in the state of Pennsylvania!!

Mike Gregor, of Union City, commenting on the hot weather everyone just went through, “It gets so hot, your
sweat sweats, but not around here”. Hmmm I don’t know with all that 90 degree weather we had every day!!

Get out of the house and enjoy this fall weather!! Take the time to really enjoy life, as Jimmy Dean said, “I have one less day than I had yesterday!”
