Union City Back To School Reminders
From Marye Parker – Hawley
Union City schools are starting August 28. Please drive slow, with children walking to and from school. Also, pay attention to the school buses! Children’s lives are at stake here…pay attention people!
School is starting back and some people need to be reminded…Bullying is NOT ok at any age! Bullying is killing our kids. Bullying causes depression and depression causes suicide!
STOP THE BULLYING!! It can result in horrible consequences. Suicide rates, because of being bullied, have increased. How many suicides will it take for people to realize bullying hurts!? Stop bullying before it’s too late! If you see someone being bullied, help them. Watching it happen is as bad as doing the bullying.
PARENTS: Pay extra attention to your child’s moods…a lot of times, children will not tell their family of suffering from being bullied! Let your children know you care and bullying is not good!! Encourage your child to share their day and experiences at school, or on the bus, with you!
An old Cherokee told his grandson, “My son, there is a battle between two wolves inside us all… One is Evil. It is anger, jealousy, greed, resentment, inferiority, lies and ego.The other is good. It is joy, peace, love, happiness, humility, kindness, empathy and truth.” The boy thought about it, and asked, “Grandfather, which wolf wins?” The old man quietly replied, “The one you feed.” Author unknown
