Pennsylvania Department of Transportation detour along Route 97 in Union City is no longer in effect following the completion of construction work on the bridge in Union Township.
A portion of Route 97 has been closed since mid-July while repairs were made to the bridge over a tributary of French Creek near Russell Standard Corp. and Kafferlin Sales & Services.
While there was some initial confusion regarding the route motorists should utilize, PennDOT later clarified the route with additional signage along the posted detour.
The roadwork was originally supposed to last until August 12, but was completed earlier than expected.
